No-Big-Silence is actually the first band from Estonia I've
ever heard. The band was formed in the early nineties and they have now become
one of the most successful rock bands in Estonia, having supported well-known
international acts like Metallica, HIM, Biohazard and Napalm Death in their
home country. Their video for "Star DeLuxe" also entered at #18 at the
Cannes Video Festival in 1999 and this video is included on this album. Since
1997 their music has developed into a more industrial direction as the band
started exploring the world of samplers and keyboards. The result can be found
ont his album in the form of a powerful mix of electronics and heavy crunchy
guitars. They are still a little too plain and mellow to make it big in my
book but they have an interesting thing going on. I would like to see them
darker or heavier because now they sound a little bit too chaotic and uneven
to be really good. Tracks like "Reaction" and "Vamp-O-Drama" show a great
deal of potential for a promising future
though.
