REVIEW: Noisecore Freak - Corner Itch Theory Deadsix Communications, 2003
6/10
Noisecore Freak - Corner Itch Theory - cover art I don't blame you if you have not heard of the Ontario, Canada, based one-man project Noisecore Freak before because there are too many unsigned bands out there to be able to keep track of them. If you feel that sanity has no place in modern music I would sincerely advice you to add this band's name to your memory bank right away because this is insane in every possible way. Here we have blasting drums dwelling with violent grindcore riffing and chaotic song structures that do not follow any given set of rules. There are harsh noise samples, ominous spoken samples and even some more ambient fragments here and there. If you dislike grindcore just because it is too monotonous and does not enough diversity in the music then this might be something for you. Agoraphobic Nosebleed fans should also be filled with joy when listening to Noisecore Freak. This is a very well done album and the sound quality is amazingly good but once again there is nothing here that we have not already experienced before. Recommended for those of you who can't find any good new grindcore / noise / ambient hybrid music though. Relapse fans beware.
