REVIEW: On A Warpath - On A Warpath Alveran Records, 2006
6.5/10
On A Warpath - On A Warpath - cover art If you think a mix of thrash and hardcore sounds interesting I hope you haven’t missed On a Warpath. Hailing from Northern California they offer us metalcore with the roots deep in old-school hardcore. The self-titled album was released in July on Alveran Records and the list of influences includes acts like Earth Crisis as well as the label friends in Hoods and the result is brutal and aggressive. The band has only been active since early 2005 and taking that into consideration this album is quite an achievement. They need to work a little more on their song writing and I am not a big fan of the vocals but I can really see myself having a great time on one of their gigs and when you get that feeling from a record, the band is certainly on to something. I am looking forward to hear what they can do in the future. Keep your eye out for On a Warpath and check this record out because it is worth giving a try.
