REVIEW: Pandemia - Personal Demon Lost Disciple Records, 2003
7.5/10
Pandemia - Personal Demon - cover art All of the info you'd ever want about Czech death metal band Pandemia is a part of the enhanced features of this multimedia album. Video clips, photos, biographical information and 9 solid slabs of old-school death metal make "Personal Demon" a wise choice for death metal freaks who need one more CD. What Pandemia play is fairly brutal, with some Florida-style melodies buzzed out on the low strings here and there. Some of the faster moments actually brought the newer Hate Eternal to mind, though this is more due to delivery and vocal style than technical or tempo aspects. "Demonic Time" is one of those nice slower death songs, almost all of it being buzzed or chunked out on the low E. "Erased From the Earth" was the most flavourful of the songs, this being mainly due to the change from 4/4 time to something more challenging. All in all, some good headbanging moments will surely await any who choose to pick up this album.
