There has been a bit of a buzz about the Swedish band Paperback Freud and the feel-good-and-party-rock‘n’roll that they offer us. The debut album “Roller” was preceded by the single “Raise It Up To The Flagpole” that is a raw track with high intensity, short and fast with some vibes of early AC/DC. Those who enjoyed the single will not get disappointed by the full-length. This kind of music will never really come to its full right unless enjoyed at a concert, but Paperback Freud has released an album that will give any party a kick-start. Just add some beers, a number of friends and you’ve got yourself a pleasant evening. “Roller” is the quintet’s debut but the band already sounds like they have been playing together for a long time. They are tight, the songs are groovy and have all an even quality, although there aren’t any great hits on the album there aren’t any lows either. This is a band that within their genre can go just as far as they want to. Keep an eye open for them.
