I have been attempting and failing to write this review for quite some time, mainly because I find that in regard to this band I have a hard time being objective. Is it because of the fact that this is a fantastic piece of fairly underground death/grind? Or is it because they hail from my old hometown of Spokane, WA? Perhaps it is in fact a blend of these two, and while I have been able to find a certain level of objectivity it is hard for me not to simply say that this Cd is just plain great. Keep in mind that it does suffer from a few problems (the production is not amazing and occasionally there is some repetition) but the problems are merely a scar on what is otherwise a fine specimen. The contributions by the band members on this release are undeniable, from Cameron Olson’s fantastic drumming to Owen Rundquist’s amazingly unique vocal style (Think Abbath from Immortal and Ross Dolan from Immolation combined), hell Abe Kenney even plays a sitar on track 8. The guitar work is quite interesting as well, seeing as how the band integrates flamenco style into some tracks and on others while being fairly standard Death Metal composition it is done quite a bit better than other bands in this genre. To sum up, there are a few things that mar this album and its undeniable quality; however that which is good shines through the lightly tarnished casing to create what is in my mind a great album. This album comes highly recommended to any fan of Death Metal music; I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
