Only a few albums of this genre are like this. I own PC 69's 8th studio album since about 3 years now and I have to admit that it is still as excellent as the first time I listened to it. Produced, recorded and engineered again by bassist Dennis Ward himself, this is indeed their best release so far. Both the predecessor "Electrified" and the follow-up album "Endangered" had some good songs, but "Sonic Dynamite" is full of melodies, amazingly clean and with strong vocals by David Readman, speedy drumming and some great guitar solos. Once again this multinational band showed that they are skilled musicians and know how to make good albums. Starting with an intro based on
acoustic guitars and keyboards (played by Günter Werno), the first song "Seas Of Madness" blows you away with its speed and melodies. This album is really full of good songs, though the best might be "Followed By The Moon", a song that stays in mind for a long time, especially due to these backing vocals and the guitar solo by Alfred Koffler. The Pinkies did their job very well,
however something is missing to get the 10/10 rating here. Twelve (13 including the bonus track) excellent songs, however "Let The Thunder Reside" and "Spread Your Wings" are the ones that don't really fit in there. Both are rather slow songs that pull the speed of this album down. Of course
good albums need some varieties of songs, but for some reason many songs sound too similar. However, if you are into melodic metal you should really check out this brilliant album, even
if you didn't like their other releases that much.
