Who said that heavy music has to be morbid
or depressing? Plutonium Orange is melodic rock at it's best with a sound
that can be compared at first listen to a modern day Rush. Their music has a
fresh feel to it and shows a huge amount of style and variety, which can be
attributed to the member’s backgrounds ranging from prog rock to death metal.
Waiting for the Gun is the bands 3rd demo and it really showcases the band
maturing in songwriting and music. The album starts off with the high-speed
track “Unstable/Unreal” and goes to the next track (My favorite) “Bend” which
slows it down a little more, with a more melancholic vibe but still the same
overall atmosphere. The next two tracks; "Waiting for the Gun" and "Going
Under" have a very similar feel and tone to the other tracks which could
possibly be the only gripe on the entire demo. This gripe is menial when
compared to the display of musicianship and overall production on the album,
which are both superior. Every song is filled with crunchy guitars and crisp
percussion and the unique vocal style brings the songs a life of their own.
All and all Plutonium Orange is a breath of fresh air and it is nice to see a
band doing something original. It will be interesting to see what the Finnish
"Plutonium rockers" have in store for us next. One could only suspect that
this band will only get better and better with anything that they do and it is
only fair to say that Plutonium Orange will soon be playing at a radio station
near you. For any additional information including other demos and full MP3
