REVIEW: Potential Threat S.F. - Potential Threat Self-financed, 2002
6/10
Potential Threat S.F. - Potential Threat - cover art Potential Threat S.F. are from San Francisco, hence the initials following a more standard band name. They apparently formed in 1985 as a five piece though the band now exists as a trio of original members. The vocals are very much in the mold of Robb Flynn with touches of an alcoholic James Hetfield and more than one cue taken from Prong and Helmet. Musically, particularly with the bass work, the Prong influence is again strong. The guitar sounds a little muted with the rhythm section dominating this sonic affair but for an independent release, this sounds pretty solid. While the riffs are not completely memorable or original, I imagine that this band would suitably bang your head in the live setting. Fans of Helmet and Prong that also like straight ahead American Thrash would do well to check out this independent release. Hell, check out the band and tell 'em Tartarean Desire sentcha.
