REVIEW: Powder Monkeys - Lost City Blues White Jazz Records, 2000
5/10
Powder Monkeys - Lost City Blues - cover art Here we are with Powder Monkeys and their "Lost City Blues". Well, I´m lost here already I can tell you. Don´t ask me why I´m reviewing this release but it seems like I am... This is not metal you see, not even close to metal or any other dark music, this is hard rock / punk / jazz in a strange mixture that doesn´t really suite this site nor me but I will try to give it my best. The music is really not that bad for a party since it is fast, rhythmic and catchy but it doesn´t really get me caught just when listening to it. The vocals are somewhere between Alice Cooper and Rod Stewart (perhaps...). I don´t really know much about the band either except that they are from Australia. Well, what else can I say, if you´re into hard rock and punk this is something for you, otherwise don´t bother listening to it. It´s not really bad music, only not something that metal-only fans would like. As I´ve already said once this is an album that you could use if you want to attend a party where everyone is not a metalhead like you...
