REVIEW: Ragnarok - In Nomine Satanas Regain Records, 2002
8/10
Ragnarok - In Nomine Satanas - cover art With three albums behind them on Metalion's label Head Not Found Ragnarok are back again with a new album and a new label. The new album is none other than the Swedish new rising Regain Records who also released the latest Marduk album. One thing you can tell for sure when listening to this album is that Ragnarok have never been this good before. The songs are perfectly planned with beautiful melodies but also the aggression and evil sound that a black metal band needs. There are no keyboards to be found here - only raw, evil riffs that was composed to make 2002 the year of Satan. If you are into raw, primal Norwegian black metal I would definitely recommend this new album from Ragnarok. The music also reminds me of what Marduk used to sound like. The production is almost perfect as you might imagine from an album coming straight from Tommy Tägtgren's Abyss. There is still hope for black metal in these days when bands like Limp Bizkit, Creed and Korn rule MTV.
