REVIEW: Ravager - Storm Of Sin Osmose Productions, 2002
7.5/10
Ravager - Storm Of Sin - cover art Ravager is a Mexican brutal death metal band that used to go under the name Domain but since there were a band from Germany with the same name they decided to change. With June Antimo from the grindcore band Disgorge on bass and vocals the band is now ready to release their debut album through the leading French extreme metal label Osmose Productions. The situation for metal bands in Mexico isn't exactly the best but now they have secured support from Osmose for at least two more albums after this one. This is one of the most intense and powerful grindcore / death metal bands from South America that I've ever heard actually. The riffs are ultra fast, the vocals are brutal as hell and the production is close to perfect thanks to the work from Morbid Angel's sound wizard Juan "Punchy" Gonzales. Ravager will be a force to reckon with for extreme metal fans all over the world. This is definitely a "storm of sin" that should please fans of Krisiun, Disgorge. This is one of the most interesting new extreme metal bands to come out of the American continents in a long time and if you are into this kind of music you should check them out!
