REVIEW: Raza De Odio - La Nueva Alarma Scarlet Records, 2004
2.5/10
Raza De Odio - La Nueva Alarma - cover art I will never play this album again. Simply because the singer has one of the worst voices I’ve ever heard. You may know him, since he used to front Sadist, I am not familiar with them, which considering he used to sing for them, I know I’d hate it. When I first heard his terrible vocals, I instantly thought of Derrick Green from Sepultura. Then I said to myself, nah Derrick’s not even that bad. Musically the band is decent. They play a thrashy Latin metal with a mix of tribal percussion. I don’t mind maybe 5% of this disk. There are also three cover songs included here. A Brujeria song, a Storm Troopers of Death song, and a Ketama song (whoever the fuck they are??). I don’t care really in checking them out. If anything Puya (another Latin metal band) is better than this band, or maybe not, cause they both suck shit. At times the drumming and guitars sound pretty fucking cool, but not enough for me to recommend this album. If you do like flamenco guitars, thrash metal with shitty vocals, then you might like this. Best songs of the album: Otra Vez, and United Forces (no where near as good as the original).
