Apart from the very strange album name, Resurrecturis has recorded a solid death metal album. The album name is weird (“The Cuckoo Clocks Of Hell”, which is in homage to the 1977 underground movie “Last House On Dead End Street”), but so are some of the sample’s that the band has included within this album. The rhythm section is tight, and at times extremely catchy. They give this band life, and originality. The tormented vocals rage between deep guttural groans to raspy venomous screams for the most part, but when the clean sung vocals come out, then that’s when I loose interest. I guess they do fit, and for a few chorus’ that’s fine, but after a while they really annoy me (I’m being too picky here). At times I find myself comparing Resurrecturis to early Soulfly. They don’t sound at all alike, well in some parts they do, but I think it’s because of the diversity from song to song. Just because of that comparison I have made, don’t let it fool you. Resurrecturis is twisted brutal death metal, and has an original sound, which is cool to hear in the days of all these bands playing the same old shit. Overall this album rolls along at a decent pace, and gets you banging your head. That’s all one could ask for. Cool paintings in the album's booklet as well.
