REVIEW: Riff Master General - A Trust Betrayed Manqueller Records, 2001
6/10
Riff Master General - A Trust Betrayed - cover art What a truly great name for a band! I love the name and I love the T-shirt with the band logo on it too. This is a traditional Hard Rock / Heavy Metal band from Northern Ireland that somehow has a singer with an accent that is very close to the accents of most of the Greek Metal singers. The one time that he totally changes his usual vocal style him and the rest of the band happen to come up with the best song on the album "Surrender", which is by far the longest song clocking at 10 minutes. This one constantly builds up and builds up on intensity and is really heavy and also quite epic. This song, along with the excellent party-like anthem "We Like That" that was also released as a two song CD single previously (with a very nice cover photo of some lady's big breasts) and is once more included here, are definitely worth alone the money required to buy this self produced and released album. Hey, you might even find that you like the vocal style in the remaining songs as well and that would be an added bonus.
