REVIEW: Rise and Shine - Break The Chains Of Tíme Plug Or Die, 2006
3/10
Rise and Shine - Break The Chains Of Tíme - cover art The Stockholm, Sweden, based band Rise and Shine are on a mission, they are trying to doom us all with long-haired leather hippie metal. Since this begun in 1993 they have released two full-length albums via the Italian label Black Widow Records. The last of them was released in 1999 but now they are back and the single “Break the Chains of Time” is taken from the group’s third album “Ghosts of the Past”. The music is inspired by 1970s hardrock and Black Sabbath has been an obvious influence but although Rise and Shine have had seven years to prepare themselves for this recording it is still boring and uninteresting. Even though I only had to listen to two tracks I found it hard to listen to the entire thing, I don’t want to have to listen to the full length of this flower power metal.
