Something´s wrong with this album, something you notice when it has been played a couple of times from the start to the end. More of the same, in a nutshell. From the very first track, the impression that everything has been heard before is hardly to avoid: opening track “Blazon stone” is similar in structure to groundbreaker “Riding the storm” from their successful, previous “Death or glory” album. A mellow guitar intro, and then the attack, you know. Not a bad song, either! But a little change had been welcome... the songs flow on and on, but the spirit is clearly gone, the inspiration is seriously missing, so that “Blazon Stone” lacks great songs. All in all, an album unable of trespassing the “average” level. Running Wild, or, more precisely, main writer and composer Rolf Kasparek, started to look as if he had run out of ideas for the band. The listening is enjoyable if you like heavy metal without a proper insight into the music and you just want some powerful guitars and drums hurting your ears. But if you wish to give something special to your senses, “Blazon stone” is not the best choice, since it has nothing new nor excellent. When music is not original, but songs are inspired and certainly magical, it doesn´t matter. But if you play the same stuff over and over again, and the songs are easily composed wihout paying attention to create something really great, then the result is limited by those facts so that music won´t work at all. This LP is a disappointing effort from a band that should have waited some time to create something better than this. That stupid trend of releasing as many albums as possible... One good album is better than two average ones!
