REVIEW: STR8 - Soul Inside? Rising Works Records, 2005
3/10
STR8 - Soul Inside? - cover art The odd name STR8 is the name of an Italian quintet with a love for metal. “Soul Inside?” is their debut album released under the label Adverse Rising (part of Rising Works Rec). These Italians serve us with a mixture of Thrash and Nu Metal and at some parts they resemble present Metallica. That is not a good judgement when it comes from me, and it gets worse. Unfortunately the vocals leave a lot to wish for, and the tracks almost completely lack energy and intensity. This may be the most uninteresting metal album that I have ever heard and the only thing I can think of that is more boring than this record is its cover. One thing is for sure, you won’t find any soul or heart in the music on “Soul Inside?”. I strongly suggest that you avoid it as far as it is possible.
