The cover art of Sacradis “Darkness Of Our Souls” album features the bandmembers clad in corpsepaint, with a picture of a castle behind. A composition not very original nor excellent, that´s evident. Well, the title of the album itself isn´t anything quite innovative, though. As you have imagined, this is... black metal. Yes, here we have another piece of the most typical black metal you can find nowadays. Anyway, in spite of what you may think from my words, it isn´t awfully played the unprofessional way. Those are separate things: Sacradis do absolutely nothing new, and it´s pretty clear their image won´t appeal you by itself, but what they do is convincing enough to become entertaining for a black metal maniac. Having said this, one must remark that last thing; if you´re not into black metal, or if you are looking for one of the 10% of black metal bands really worthwhile and creative who wander the scene nowadays, this is not for you. However, if you want something really crushing, fast and darkly aggressive, “Darkness Of Our Souls” will surely be hailed by your ears. For Sacradis is a very correct band which quite worked skills. I recall some Marduk stuff while listening to this band, but surely other bands could be quoted, too. I´ve enjoyed the drummer work a lot;quite often drums are the weak part in a black metal band, but here they´re interesting, doing varied things here and there, and delivering a pounding, machinegun-like, collection of beats. Too bad the sound isn´t really clean; in the fast parts the mix becomes chaotic and one can hardly recognize the melodies and the overall feeling, and unfortunately the production makes this album harder to taste, since full-speed-ahead passages dominate “Darkness Of Our Souls”. Anyway, Sacradis isn´t a bad experience at all. Fast –very fast- black metal for black metal ears.
