REVIEW: Sathanas - Flesh For The Devil Pagan Records, 2007
1.5/10
Sathanas - Flesh For The Devil - cover art 'Flesh for the devil', an EP previously released a couple of years ago as a joint venture between Sabbathid Records and Pagan Records, is the brain-child of underground veterans hailing from ancient entities such as the American Acheron and Bathym; both long standing bands, the activities of which could be traced well back into the end of the Eighties of the previous century...

The reason for Pagan Records to have decided upon re-releasing this short album is obscure, for no apparent valid reason could be summoned in order to articulate any reasoning within this piece of redundant metal recording being re-issued.

Not showcases what-so-ever the musicians' long-lasting activity within the metal underground, nor does it show any original approach towards song writing - 'Flesh for the devil' is a juvenile, half-witted album that would have suited by-the-book musical beginners rather than experienced and mature characters such as the ones behind this very uninspired piece (or is it the other way around: are younger generations more daring and adventurous today, whereas veterans are cautious, hesitant and prefer to tread safe, familiar territories, hence are boring?)...

This Black/death oriented thrash metal by numbers (whose only redeeming faculty is the semi-original vocal approach that often changes pitch and style and the crisp production) leaves me, after my first encounter with Sathanas, unfulfilled and apathetic...
