Sear Bliss has always been a very special band. Not only are they one of the few bands who have stepped out of the Hungarian underground onto at least some international recognition but they are also one of the few black metal bands who have a member playing the trombone. Their fifth album "Glory And Perdition" follows the previous releases in a logical manner. The epic and haunting atmosphere is still present and although they still owe a lot of their music to the early Dimmu Borgir they have, since the beginning, managed to add their own personal fingeprint. The vocals from founding member András Nagy are excellent and Sear Bliss have a talent for creating bridges between aggressive and violent parts on one side and slow, atmospheric ones on the other. The music is bombastic, epic, melodic, aggressive and beautiful all at once, showing all sides of nature in close to 40 minutes. The songs are competently worked through, the production is powerful and the cover artwork is very nice as well. Red Stream and Hungary can be very proud of this band as they have once again produced a great album. Viking era Bathory meets "Stormblĺst" period Dimmu Borgir.
