REVIEW: Since The Flood - No Compromise Metal Blade Records, 2007
7/10
Since The Flood - No Compromise - cover art Those of you who are still longing for more metalcore made for the moshpit might find themselves slightly aroused while listening to the sophomore effort from Boston's Since The Flood. "No Compromise" is a title that says it all as this album rages on from the very first second until the mere 32 minutes have passed. It is tight, straight-forward and intense metalcore with a somewhat punky attitude but, and this is a big but, it is far from original. If you are not digging as deep as possible within the genre you will do much better looking out for Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall, Hatebreed or even the British newcomer Mendeed who are at least trying to explore new ideas. If you are simply looking for a quick energy fix then Since The Flood may not be a bad choice though because they are a league of perfectly competent musicians equipped with a large amount of youth driven enthusiasm for their art.
