Kimberly Goss is back again with her band
Sinergy but the line-up has changed a lot since last year´s debut album.
Jesper Strömblad and Sharlee D´Angelo are not in the band anymore since
Kimberly has moved from Sweden to Finland and has replaced them with some
great Finnish musicians. The line-up changes has changed the music a little
bit but not that much. The music is a little heavier, faster and more
energetic now but unfortunately there are also some slower songs on this album
that doesn´t really suite Kimberly´s voice. Don´t get me wrong here, slow
ballads can be beautiful if done right but personally I think Sinergy should
stay away from them. However, much thanks to the great voice of Kimberly,
Sinergy has become one of the best female fronted metal bands in the world and
hopefully they will be with us for some time. Some people don´t like the
rising number of women in the metal world but until the number of women equals
the number of men I am happy to see more grlz in metal, as long as they are
good at what they´re doing and there is no doubt Kimberly Goss is! A great
follow-up to the debut album from last year but I hope the band takes way
advice and stay away from the slower songs in the future. The album was
recorded at Astia Studios, Lapeenranta by Anssi Kippo, January-February, 2000.
It was mixed at Finnvox Studios, Helsinki by Mikko Karmila in February and
mastered at the same place and time by Mika
Jussila.
