The five piece Slowlife are hailing from Stockholm, Sweden and released the first full-length “What you fear is what you get” a while ago. It is aggressive metalcore that fuses melodic metal with hardcore and the sound is influenced by band as At the Gates, Raised Fist and Nine. The vocal is very much hardcore and not as much metal and the production is not that great. Still there are a lot of good ideas and energy on “What you fear is what you get” and Slowlife have really improved since earlier demos. Some of the tracks are really good but others on the other hand are quite boring, luckily those parts are few. There is nothing original about this music but most of the time the band manage to create songs that feels interesting anyway and it leave you wishing that the album would be longer than 30 minutes. It will be most interesting to listen to what Slowlife will record in the future, let’s hope for better production then. This is music that will appeal to fans of metalcore as well as hardcore and I would strongly suggest that you check this band out.
