Society 1 frontman and leader Matt Zane has made a name for himself in the porn business and by performing while suspended from meat hooks in his skin. What everyone wants to know then is if there is any real substance in the music of Society 1 as well or if it is all about the image and this kind of stunts. I must honestly say that it is a lot about image because Society 1 are far from being a unique band but they are also capable of writing enjoyable music. "The Sound That Ends Creation" is the band's third album and it follows the same pattern as the previous two releases - simple, straight-forward industrial riffs, a heavy groove and Zane's vocals ranging from vibrant stoner rock choruses to aggressive screams and warm clean singing. There are better industrial bands but Society 1 is one of the most shocking and provocative and if that's your thing then go with the flow. In the slightly emotional "I Love Her" it feels as if Mr. Zane wants to impersonate Pete Steele with a touch of Danzig and I have a strong feeling that this song will appeal to the female audience. "The Sound That Ends Creation" is a solid album that should not disappoint fans of the band.
