REVIEW: Soul Demise - Beyond Human Perception Gutter Records, 2000
7.5/10
Soul Demise - Beyond Human Perception - cover art Soul Demise is a death metal band from München, Germany. Their style of playing is very fast, furious and intense but still with lots of melody inspired from the Gothenburg scene. Their sound and growling vocals are rather traditional to the scene which means that if you have heard At The Gates you know pretty much what to expect from this album. This does not mean that these Germans have just copied their sound because Soul Demise have composed these songs on their own with their own style marked on them and an additional Celtic Frost touch. Perhaps they are not one of the best and most out-standing bands in this genre but they are without a single trace of doubt a bunch of very talented musicians who know what to do with their instruments of hellish fury. If you are a fan of melodic death metal - In Flames, At The Gates, The Forsaken... - then you should at least check this band out because they do deserve it. All the vocals and some of the lyrics on this album was done by Jürgen Aumann. The album was recorded and mixed at Berno Studio in Malmö, Sweden, in May 2000, mastered at Mastering Studio Nord Bremen, Germany.
