I
have no idea why Black Mark is signing these rock bands nowadays. A rather
small label as they are I think they should focus on one genre of music and
fans of Bathory don't usually listen to this kind of hardrock. Southfork is
however a nice Swedish rock band with some fine qualities. Unfortunately the
vocals are rather weak while the music is rough, dirty rock from the old
school. Something that makes Southfork different from most other rock bands is
that they are very good at making great heavy blues inspired riffs. I usually
hate rock music since I find it noisy (I know I'm sounding like an old man
but it is noisy!) but in some strange way I find Southfork interesting, mostly
due to the heavy blues influences. I haven't heard the debut album from the
band but if you liked that one I couldn't imagine that you wouldn't love
this one as well. Perhaps I'm learning to enjoy heavy rock as well but I
still think I have a long road left before I like other Swedish bands like The
Hellacopters and Backyard Babies. Time will tell... This is great party music
though.
