Statobardo from Italy is a band whose music is easiest described as new-metal. The first full-length album ‘Another Education’ makes one think of bands like Limp Bizkit and early Deftones. ‘Another Education’ is a record that grows more and more as one listens to it. This is an even album and it is hard to find any tracks that stand out. The first impression was that the record is plain and boring, but giving it some time ‘Another Education’ has got a lot of qualities. ‘Ill Technique’ has a dark, funky groove that it is impossible to sit still to and so does ´Killak´ that, together with the title track, is one of my favourites. However there is something missing and Statobadrdo doesn’t reach all the way. The album tends to lack personality and intensity in a way that makes it hard to remember any of the tracks after you turn off the stereo. It is easy to like ‘Another Education’ in theory, but it just doesn’t strike you at the heart.
