REVIEW: Steel Attack - Fall Into Madness AFM Records, 2001
7/10
Steel Attack - Fall Into Madness - cover art The young Swedish power metal band Steel Attack has managed to produce an album entitled "Fall Into Madness" which I am just about to review. A power metal band needs to be in possession of several things in order to make any impression at all on me - they have to have a charismatic singer with a powerful voice, speed, plenty of interesting riffs and a fair amount of technical skill. Steel Attack are in fact in possession of all these although the music still gets a little boring at times. Their music is of course very much guitar based but there are also some interesting keyboards in the beginning of "Judgment Day" which unfortunately sound a bit cheap. Apart from this minor flaw the overall sound quality is almost perfect thanks to the band and P.O. Saether at Studio Underground in Västerås, Sweden, where the album was recorded. This is a solid release from Steel Attack and if you are in love with the flourishing power metal genre you would want to listen to this one. I myself would prefer less speed and more melody next time around.
