I recently got Stone Drive's promo CD whose 6 tracks are taken from their debut album, A Moment of Weakness. The Paris-based band was formed in 2006 and I would describe their musical style as a combination of rock/metal and post-grunge with lively melodies.
This promo CD has recently received renewed recognition from a few American magazines with reviews and so on, but it's still unknown around here [in Europe]. These 6 tracks have been produced by Françis Caste, know for his work with the following bands: No Return, Zuul FX, Aqme. Good arrangements, both metal and energetic rock, are full of power. Here the melodies and the vocals are efficient - nothing less, nothing more. "Redemption Day" appears to be the heaviest song of the whole package. The band mentioned itself that their main influences are Nickelback or Creed and it's like we could listen to both bands on one CD with a unique touch. If you fancy listening to power rock that differs from the usual metal music, it is absolutely worth listening to.
