I learned about Strevlosh Zvezda over Vincent and Tartarean Desire and this is a first time for me, in over a decade, to hear of a Serbian band through a foreign source! Since I am very well informed about our scene that means only one thing: the Serbian scene is growing and spreading which is excellent. I am sure that this is its strongest moment so far, ever and Strevlosh Zvezda is one more proof for that. This self-titled demo features 4 songs in total, actually three songs, of which the last one 'Iskopavanje Večnih sila' is in two versions, studio and rehearsal one. Music-wise, SZ are definitely not something I am used to review for TD. They play their own version of Black Metal (I guess, at least) without distorted guitars, but with acoustic ones and without bass guitar at all. The vocals are the same as it would be in any standard Raw BM horde, except for some sick whispering parts, and basically the same can be said for the drums too. The songs follow two paths inside one song, either they are your usual 'true' BM only played on accustic guitar, which can make it somewhat difficult to recognize the 'true spirit'. The other path means the music is a bit slow, very atmospheric, without drums and with really creepy screaming. Since the lyrics are in Serbian, from what I understand they are between curses and invocations, so consider aforementioned screaming that is spine-chilling. In the end, the production is suitable for this I guess and the overall impression is that I am confused since I haven't listened to something like this before. Yet, it's spinning in my player this entire day, so there's something to it.
