I'm not exactly sure in what stage the band is at the present time, but I do know that they've recently been offered a record deal that could bring them out of the underground and onto the market. Former Soulfly, Joe Nunez is to be associated with the band, this only proving that many people have seen the potential of Stripping The Pistol already. Although they are emerging from the underground, I wouldn't exactly say that their music sounds as if it was coming from there. The two vocalists set fits perfectly into the style the band went with, wich is somewhat like a mix of a few different genres like hardcore and other "modern rock" styles, concentrating more on the vocal part rather than making it instrumentally shine. That's a big fat minus in my opinion. The songs all sound pretty good, and are bound to succeed on open market, but catchy choruses, soaring hardcore melodies are not the recepy for my exstacy. At least not in the MTV manner. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if that's where we'll be seeing these guys in a couple of years. The sound they produce will fit so well into today's comercial rock scene, that success just isn't bound to pass them by. To add it all up, there's just too much of that modern day rock influence in Stripping The Pistol for my taste, but I'm definitely sure, that they'd be welcomed by all who appreciate bands of the hardcore, punk, rap-core and metal-core genres. [note: I based my review on the songs I've found around the net, and I'm not exactly sure wether they have an "official" demo, with a title and everything, so I guess you could call this more of a review of a band rather than a demo - I mention the songs I've had the chance to listen to on the tracklist... so that isn't an official tracklist eigter]
