REVIEW: Tad Morose - Matters Of The Dark Century Media, 2002
8.5/10
Tad Morose - Matters Of The Dark - cover art This is the second Tad Morose album on their new label Century Media and with no line-up changes since the last time they have been able to take their time to make an album worth to remember. Some may call their music power metal but I don't think that is fair because they don't sound like the thousands of Helloween clones that have popped up in the 1990's. Tad Morose play powerful heavy metal with great riffs and strong vocals instead of the whining that most power metal vocalists have succumbed to. Tad Morose have more in common with heavy hard rock than these bands. This is the band's fifth full-length album and there is no doubt that they have learned a lot over the years. The musicianship is close to perfect, the choruses are magnificent, the vocals from Urban Breed stronger than ever and the production is as good as it gets. This is an album worth checking out if you're into any kind of heavy metal or hard rock because Tad Morose have grown into becoming one of the leading Swedish bands at the moment. This is hard, it's heavy and, above all, it rocks. Stand-out tracks: "Ethereal Soul" and "Sword Of Retribution".
