This is a 2 track demo of a metal band from Norrköping in Sweden and it´s recorded some time and somewhere I do not know really because there is no information about that anywhere!
Not on their homepage or on mp3.com where they have their songs, and that´s very very VERY bad i think!
If they have any fans or whatever they never will find out these things, and what if a webzine like this shall write about their music? If any band members of this band read this do something about it and quick!!! And now over to their music. Their song called "Mist" has a beginning with drums and then there is a riff that is not so creative and new, then there are these vocals. A female is singing in falsetto and it way to high in the recording and it´s drowning the instrument behind. This song is very predictable I think and nothing catch my interest. The second song called "The Hovel's Song" begins with a cheerful riff and the vocals follow it through both tact changes and so on, then there is a calmer part of this song where they also have a male singer and only that part is good, then there is an annoying solo followed by a very bad and weird tact and musical part. Then there is more weird tacts and musical parts where the female vocalist is taking herself to the extreme and there is just a thin thread between failure and disaster. The best part is when all this ends. This is not good, and I get a feeling that they think that they are all that by reading there homepage and so, but it´s not all that bad after all they are in the beginning of their band's career and if they practise and practise they might get good, with the right help on the way of course. After all they can play their instruments right and have some idea of what their music shall sound like. But if they once again practise on their skills this should be something good?
[Editor's comment: I must say that I do not agree very much with this review but I decided to publish it anyway. I have nothing against critical reviews in general but the reviewer does not have much of a sense for progressive music which is clearly reflected in the review. Therefore I advise you not to take this review to seriously if you enjoy that kind of music. If so, read the other review we have on this demo instead.]
