The album with the somewhat mysteriously looking title "Neverplace" starts off with an epic and majestic intro that goes very well in hand with the nice landscape cover art. Then the real music kicks in with mid-paced to fast black / death metal, both melodic, bombastic and symphonic in its nature. If it wasn't enough with a peculiar album title the band name doesn't exactly make English speaking people happy. On this album Taliándörögd show similarities with more avantgardistic and symphonic extreme metal bands like Hollenthon and Old Man's Child. All in all it is a very diverse and epic record, rich in sounds and definitely listenable. The vocals remind me a lot of Dimmu Borgir actually. Perhaps a little bit too mechanical at times but otherwise a nice release for fans of epic black / death metal. Pretty basic riffs but well played and capable of igniting at least one or two sparks of interest in me. Something that I like about the album is that it is very coherent and every track follows almost perfectly after another. Stand-out tracks: "Progeny", "The Glimpse", "A Dream Like Gate".
