Musically, Season Of Evil falls somewhere between a mix of Superjoint Ritual & High On Fire. While these songs are all quick hitters the playing is pretty tight, particularly in the riffing. The main ingredient in The Fucking Wrath's arsenal tends to be a little something called VOLUME and together mixed with SPEED pretty much forms the ingredients to describe what you're dealing with on Season Of Evil. While the band uses some slower riffs and longer build ups to add variety to their songs, they are clearly at their best when most aggressive and tunes like the ultra-fast “Defeater" or the well structured “ Old Man And The Sea” showcase this.

You also kind of get the feeling that the guys are having a little bit of fun with their listeners. That is not to say that they aren't taking their music seriously but everything from their name to the colorful artwork to the play on name titles (see "Ride The Lighter") indicate that these guys love their metal but aren't afraid to throw a little comic relief in their game. We even get a quote from the Ghostbusters 2 movie (although not sure if that is supposed to be comical or not).

All in all this is a pretty decent debut and not a bad way to spend twenty five minutes or so. While putting a label on Season Of Evil may be kind of difficult, fans of fast and highly energetic punkish metal will find plenty of enjoyment in The Fucking Wrath.
