REVIEW: The Glasspack - Powderkeg Small Stone Records, 2002
7/10
The Glasspack - Powderkeg - cover art Just take a look at the song titles of this band and see what you think. Personally speaking a band that has songs like Jim Beam And Good Green, Shut Up And Ride, Mrs. Satan,. Whiskey House, Demolition Derby always grabs my attention from the word go. I also respect them big time for the fact that in just under three years they have managed to tour over 10,000 miles. (This is how PROPER bands act for God's shake!) They've been on the club circuit with such bands as Nebula, Gaza Strippers, The Frogs, Melt Banana, The Hookers, The Thrones, The Immortal Lee County Killers, and The Tight Bros. There's no other way to put it, The Glasspack are what dirty ass ROCK 'N ROLL in its' purest form is all about. Formed in early 1999 in Louisville, Kentucky, they spent the first two years of their creation honing their skills on the road and in the studio. By early 2001 they released their first full-length CD "American Exhaust" on Riverock Records. The record and live reviews that followed in Maximum Rock-n-Roll, Stonerrock.com, High Beam Music and Roadburn Magazine brought them to the attention of Small Stone Records that is of course specializing in bands with a similar sound. Now guys, since you are such road dogs, would it not be sensible to ask for a European tour that will include the UK?
