REVIEW: The Orange Man Theory - Riding A Cannibal Horse From Here To… Indelirium Records, 2005
7/10
The Orange Man Theory - Riding A Cannibal Horse From Here To… - cover art The Orange Man Theory is a not an ordinary hardcore band. These four Italian guys mix their hardcore roots with metal, punk, rock and a psychedelic touch. Their album “Riding A Cannibal Horse From Here To…” was released in December 2005 and the record is produced by Steve Austin (Today Is The Day) who also appear on synth and guest vocals. The aggressive riffs and Gianni’s hysterical screams are great, but the best part of this record is the surprises. You never know where they are heading, making “Riding A Cannibal Horse From Here To…” far from boring and predictable. But perhaps they should be careful when attempting to do calmer parts with clean vocals, like the ones in “Biollante’s Dawn” and in the title track. It doesn’t matter if the song is great, when the vocals are bad and out of tune you still can’t enjoy listening to it. “Riding A Cannibal Horse From Here To…” is filled with energy and aggression and is an interesting album, definitely worth checking out if you’re a hardcore head.
