REVIEW: The Storyteller - Crossroad No Fashion Records, 2002
8/10
The Storyteller - Crossroad - cover art Damn, this is good shit! I expected some utter boredom of powermetal from this one, as the usual powermetal that No Fashion throws out, i e Wolf and that sort of crap... But, no, this is killer! Imagine Helloween mixed up with a singer that sounds so much like Candlemass frontman Messiah, and you got Storyteller's story! In particular, that songs where they tune down the powermetal and glide over to slow epic metal is fabulous, like the titletrack "Crossroad" which is at times to hear old Candlemass reborn... This is a great album for all kind of metal fans, whether you're into old metal, new metal or whatever. Storyteller has really done a good album, no matter what prejudice I had before I put this one on. Shame on me!
