REVIEW: TiTTyTwisters - DeMon SiDe Self-financed, 2002
6.5/10
TiTTyTwisters - DeMon SiDe - cover art From the Italian coast city of Livorno hails a band going under the somewhat strange monicker TiTTyTwisters. The band formed as a trio back in the year 2000 but one year later they gained two new members. One of them was the female vocalist Ele who is doing a very good job on this demo recording of their's. In fact, she is the most important reason why I liked the album at all. Even though her voice is not extraordinary strong or deep she uses it in a way that I find appealing. Musically TiTTyTwisters will probably be labelled as some kind of neo-metal band but they also tend to share some progressive sounds with the wonderful American atmospheric metallers of Aghora. Other than that these two bands have very little in common since Ele is a much more aggressive vocalist and not exactly classically trained (at least it doesn't show). The music is groovy, oscillating between sweet melancholy and violent aggression, but it is a little bit too generic for my taste. In short I would like to say that their music is easily enjoyable but not that exciting. What makes the difference is the female vocals from Ele. I am glad that she has a quite dark voice because it suits their music and the general atmosphere of the recording very well indeed. A decent effort from a young band.
