REVIEW: Tiamat - Vote For Love (single) Century Media, 2002
7/10
Tiamat - Vote For Love (single) - cover art If you never suspected that Tiamat would become commercial you are hereby proven wrong. The practical meaning of the word commercial is that the labels become interested in releasing singles to make a little bit of extra money as well as bring out the music to more mainstream medias. This single contains two tracks from the upcoming album "Judas Christ" but also an exclusive track called "Cold Last Supper" which sounds rather nice. The title track "Vote For Love" was the most commercial track of the new album but also the worst one and therefore I am not too fond of this single. The next track "So Much For Suicide" is more in the Skeleton Skeletron vein and a real Tiamat track instead of a boring mainstream flirt. Some bands were made for mainstream like Metallica, Iron Maiden and Rammstein but when bands like Tiamat try to make it there it only sounds dull and foolish. If you are not an extreme hardcore fan of the band I would wait until the full-length album is released on February 18th. If you liked their last album I don't think you will be disappointed, at least not with the majority of the songs. By the way, this single also includes a video-clip of "Brighter Than The Sun".
