REVIEW: Tierra Santa - Indomable Locomotive Music, 2003
7.5/10
Tierra Santa - Indomable - cover art Tierra Santa is one of the most popular bands in their home country and they could be described as the Spanish equivalent of Sweden's Hammerfall. They are not only popular but also a very productive band because this is the fifth album from the band who have only been active since 1997. "Indomable" continues the tradition of Spanish power metal but since I have not been in touch with their previous releases I don't know what has happened musically. While the songs themselves are not exceptional in any way it is easy to tell that these guys know how to play and they want to show it the world. The music is somewhat similar to Hammerfall but the vocals are very different. Angel, the vocalist of Tierra Santa, has a very warm and passionate voice which is something I wouldn't want to say about Cans. Even though I have heard lots of Spanish metal bands this is the first one I know of that sings entirely in Spanish which is something I appreciate. Even though I don't understand more than a word here and a word there I really like the vocals because this guy has a wonderful voice. Maybe he would be better off in the Eurovision Song Contest but I still love what he is doing with Tierra Santa. The fact that they sing in Spanish is probably one of the main reasons why they haven't been given more attention internationally but if you are into melodic heavy / power metal then you should get to know this band.
