REVIEW: Tiwanaku - promo Self-financed, 2003
9/10
Tiwanaku - promo - cover art A friend in Spain sent me the four songs of Tiwanaku’s promo CD and I liked it so much that I decided to find out more about the band and what a big surprise I got when I found out who the people behind this band are. It’s Emo Mowery of Nocturnus, Wade Black Ex-Seven Witches / Ex – Crimson Glory, and Richard Christy Ex – Death / Iced Earth, so if you are familiar with these names then of course you’ll have an idea of what it sounds like, if not, well take Nocturnus’ "The Key", mix it with Iced Earth and add some King Diamond to it plus some Sanctuary, Metal Church and Atheist and voilá you've got Tiwanaku, a band that I’m sure all big metal labels must be fighting for. This is a very talented, original and versatile band that will shine because they have very proficient musicians that have created styles of their own and had come to mix them all together in this project, which in a few words blends death metal with traditional power metal, there’s something with the vocals very special which gives me the feeling of Death Metal meets Rob Halford sometimes, so for you out there looking for new creative and talented acts Tiwanaku will for sure satisfy your hunger for it.
