THE power-trio from Hell! If Hell was a fuzzed-out Japanese desert, or maybe an aquatic firepit, or even an arctic mudslide. Yes, this group of Oakland’s finest produce a great blend of Stoner, Sludge, Doom, Grunge, Noise, and plain ol’ Rock (and maybe more), wrap it up in massive grooves, and then provide an almost Pop sensibility to the entire Heavy affair. Imagine an upbeat version of the Melvins ...or if High on Fire quit pretending to be evil ...or if Helmet didn’t take themselves so seriously. Seriously. This is good times.
Crucial Blast have re-released Totimoshi’s sophomore record from 2002 with a bunch of extras, including videos and photos on an enhanced portion of the CD. Flashes of Monster Magnet, Sons of Otis, and Los Natas also appear on this great but too brief album. Alex Newport of Fudge Tunnel (and Nailbomb) fame produced this spored-over slab of stoned out space-rock and this must sound exactly like the band wanted it to sound. Well, if they could remember that far back through the puddle of resin and pile of PBR cans. \m/
