REVIEW: Trachea - demo Self-financed, 2003
5/10
Trachea - demo - cover art Trachea is a band from Norrköping (Sweden) and have struggled through the music and competition for many years, in many bands and members. This is the first demo delivered from Trachea and its sounds like a sweet mix of death metal and some happy Gothenburg death, the vocals are some kind of a screamy form of black metal but it´s all good, the riffs and atmosphere these boys build up is a dark and scary environment that sadly breaks with some cheerfullness from time to time. I wounder what the whole idea is? What do they want there music to be? "Forest Of The Impaled" is a dark and scary song that has a good tempo through the whole song I think, but there is something about it that is not quite so scary, but I can´t put my finger on what. The riffs and other stuff in "Haunted" are really good but the verses are a little slow. I think they should have maintained the tempo that is in the rest of the song but it is good anyway. On the track "War Machine" the song begins with some drums and some cheerful riffs and then a scream, and the very last scream cracks in the end but this is the only bad thing I have to say about the vocals. The rest of the song continues in a cheerful way with some influences of doom and death? The whole demo is a good start for this band and I think that it should be interesting to follw this band in the future if they will continue that is. Some cult fact: All the members except the singer are proud members of Forgotten Words, can you belive that?
