Behind the peculiar name Transilvanian Beat Club lies the Eisregen duo Yantit and Theresa Trenks alongside two new acquiantancies. Their debut album is a strange mix of black metal, gothic tinged punk rock and death metal with a horror movie touch and occasional female vocals working alongside the raw, raspy lead vocals from Yantit who seems to be the band mastermind. Nina Hagen and Rammstein made people appreciate German lyrics but usually they are not exceptionally well received on the international scene and this may be an obstacle TBC have to face although the German speaking community is quite large by itself. Even though "Willkommen Im Club" is not an ordinary album it does tend to bore me after a few songs. There is very little variation and no song distinguishes itself remarkably from the others. Even the Darkthrone cover "Transilvanian Hunger" is only moderately interesting. An extra point for originality but the simplicity of the songs and the weak vocal performance forces me to lower the overall score. An ok album that might be of interest to Eisregen fans but otherwise you will probably not enjoy this enough to invest the money.
