This is the first full-length album of the English quartet Twisted Autumn Darkness. In contrary to what you now may all believe, this is not a raw blackmetal band with corpsepaint and black and white cover. Of course, they do play blackmetal, but adds a blend of many other styles, like death, thrash and gothic metal.
If you haven't already guessed it, anti-christianity has had a heavy influence on the lyrics.
Some have a different name, but nevertheless there are many songs that survived from their m-cd "Darkness Rising" that was self-released in 2000 and made it onto this album. It really is a pleasure to hear those songs again, now with better production and more speed. One thing I don't really like about "Twisted Autumn Darkness" is the growling, which I think has clear "Dani Filth" influences. My favourite songs are "Cursed In Blessed Disguise", "Full Moon Despair" and the title-track. "Full Moon.." is absolutely the darkest track and "Cursed In..." is by far the most catchy. This is a very variated album and thus, a hard one to get a grip on, but I thought it over a lot before I came up with my grade. So, even though it's a very good album, it's not a milestone. Originality isn't everything, and I can't understand why some reviewers have raised the album to the stars only on that basis.
