REVIEW: Vacant Stare - Vindication Copro Records, 2002
6.5/10
Vacant Stare - Vindication - cover art As the hardcore and metal scenes are beginning to fuse together it is becoming very hard to classify some bands by what type of music they are playing. The British band Vacant Stare is one of these. Sometimes they sound like a heavy rock band, sometimes like a hardcore band and sometimes like a nu-metal band. The most impressive thing about this band is the powerful vocals and having a good vocalist will give them a big advantage over most other bands within their genre. Some of the tracks on this album such as "Obscured" and "Patience" are very good but this kind of quality does unfortunately not last throughout the whole album. Strangely enough this is the second album entitled "Vindication" that I have reviewed within a couple of weeks, the other one being Susperia's second achievement. Vacant Stare will however not appeal to the same people as Susperia as you probably realize on your own. If you are into metalcore or nu-metal in general you might want to check out this British band because they are a decent band worth checking out.
