REVIEW: Vader - Armageddon System Shock, 2002
8.5/10
Vader - Armageddon - cover art I doubt that Vader needs much of an introduction today. Ever since the release of their debut album "The Ultimate Incantation" on Earache Records in 1992 they have been growing to become one of the world's leading death metal bands together with American names like Cannibal Corpse and Morbid Angel. In 1995 they signed with the German label System Shock and released a couple of albums before ending up on Metal Blade Records. System Shock have decided to release this compilation album as a sort of memory from the time Vader was on their label although it contains material from all of their releases. This is without a doubt the best compilation disc I have ever heard and it really shows the best of the Polish band. Twenty tracks and more than 70 minutes of music art should be enough to make every true death metal fan jump up and down from joy (and bang the heads even though that is not good for you, you know...). Vader is one of the most intense metal bands ever and I can safely tell you that there is not one minute of rest given throughout this whole album. If you haven't yet come to know Vader or you are a perfectionist who wants nothing but the best or you are a hardcore Vader fan then I advice you to get this release. Stand-out tracks: "The Wrath", "Fear Of Napalm", "Crucified Ones".
