Valley's Eve - Deception Of

Pain - cover art Valley's Eve is a German band that was formed back in 1993 and today features two members of the critically acclaimed metal sensation Mystic Prophecy. This is the third album from the band and as it is being released by Limb Music I suspect that you already know what type of music we are dealing with here. Valley's Eve do in fact play power metal but in the more aggressive American style which makes them a lot more interesting than most other bands on the Limb Music label. "Deception Of Pain" is a concept album made up of twelve songs who all deal with suicide in one form or another. Apparently the lyrics are inspired by a book written by an American psychiatrist who had spoken to people who have tried to commit suicide but failed. Energetic tight riffing and raw powerful vocals is what Valley's Eve is all about but their music is still very atmospheric and passionate. Most of the band members are in their 30s which means that they are very experienced musicians. This also shows in the music where every single riff and catchy hook is placed exactly where it belongs. The vocalist sometimes remind me of Symphony X's own Russell Allen but his voice is a little rougher and the music is also more straightforward and less progressive. If you mix Symphony X with Saviour Machine you will come closer to the sound of this band. If you are into heavy passionate metal with powerful vocals then Valley's Eve is certainly a band to keep track of.
